does anyone know where to find detailed specs and history of the 460? what transmissions fit a 460?:16suspect
429/460 share the same trannys as the 351m/400m engines as for internal engine spec here's a quick reference for all Ford engines including the 429/460 http://www.fordclassics.com/enginespecs.html
Yes, the big spline toploader in the Cyclones, Mustangs and Torinos around 70 and 71. Possibly in the Mustangs to 73 or 74. Most of these would have been behind the Cobra Jet engines, but I've seen at least a couple behind the 4 bbl motors. There may have been some trucks in later years that had manual transmissions behind the 429's also.
