Hi All, Couple of questions: 1) Were hazard flashers an option in '72? I can't find any on my car. 2) Were shoulder belts an option? If so, can I retro-fit them to my '72? 3) Are the later style arm rests (pic 1) adaptable to my '72's doors? I like them better. Besides, the pass side plastic "base" (pic 2) broke when it fell off during removal. Are these required for the later style? Thanks! Russ
1 They should be to the right on the steering column. 2 They will not fit unless You change doors. Welcome to the board. Later Tim
Tim, Was your #2 in response to my #2 or #3? My steering column parts are still out for paint, but I do not recall seeing the hazard flasher knob, so, can I ASSume it an option? Still need to know if I can retrofit a lug on the "B" pillar for the factory 3 point belt setup that came with my 2007 Pontiac G6 buckets... On the door panel arm rests, I'll need to remake the panels as the factory backerboard got tore up pretty good during removal. Do the later style armrests depend more on the panel or the door structure itself? Russ
1. Hazard flashers were standard equipment on all Mavericks and Comets. The switch is on the left side of the column, about the 4 o'clock position. 2. Shoulder belts were standard on all Mavericks and Comets. If your headliner has been replaced, chances are they covered up the mounts. 3. The door will have to be changed to use the later style arm rest. The inside door handle is also in a different location.
Thanks! I should be able to remember 1 & 2 since I took it apart and not that long ago! Guess I'll troll the ad section for a new plastic support... Russ
