dizzy part

    whats the plastic cup shaped piece called that sits under the distributer cap? mine has some chips on the bottom and wobbles a little bit. its a DS 302 dizzy btw. i got a new dizzy and a new cap but i didnt realize this piece wasnt included with either. just want to know what to ask for when i go to napa later :rolleyes:

    Dont really know the proper name but I would guess cap extension. I know you can pick them up at any good parts store.

    The factory manual simply calls it an adapter. Yeah, you usually have to buy them seperately.

    Some of them sell all three pieces in a set, like Standard-Blue Streak, comes with the cap. cap adapter and rotor. They were used in the early 80's prior to the TFI-EFI distributors.

    Once you have one it can be used forever - unless it cracks or gets broken.
