Ok So I Am Thinking Of Putting A 4.6 Mod Motor Out Of A 2000 Mustang Gt In My Car. Since Im Removing My Shock Towers I Will Have Plenty Of Room. My Next Dilema Is Headers, Im Sure I Will Have To Have Special Ones Made. But I Was Just Throwing This Out There To Get Some Opinions And See If Anyone Has Head Of Anyone Doing This. Im Already Putting The 2000 Mustang Dash And Seats And Stuff In. I Mias Well Make It Worth Putting In A Magazine Lol. If Anyone Has Some Opinions On This Let Me Know.

If you're removing the shock towers, then the sky's the limit! I'd say go for it!!!

if you got the time money and pitence to go through that headache... lol

i'd atleast hold out for a 4V motor from a cobra ot lincoln or maybe one of those 5-point-somethng mod motors the trucks have

4.6 are smooth in high RPM, id much rather have pushrods

but one problem with 4.6 , parts are very expenisve , cams are 600 bucks, aftermarket heads are about the same as SBF

block is cheaper than sbf, because there is nothing there...

good thing, all 4.6 are 4 bolt main

i built a 4.6 for my tbird and its a PITA in some regards and easy in some...

o i know they are exspensive. but look at the cobras i have a guy who live down the road has a bone stock cobra engine in his. he put a upgraded whipple charger on it and a 125 shot of spray some et streets and a little tune and he runs 10s all day and drives it home. the car has 50,000 miles on the mods. id say im impressed. what are the truck motors you talkign about . that may be easier to find. 5 point mod motor?

    tune

he had some guys from a dyno shop in chicago come down for 700 bucks and take the car to the drag strip and tune it and race it and get it tuned just right and than handed him the keys.

I on the other hand will not need that much of a tune because if i put anything on it it will just be a stock blower from a stock cobra. the stock cobras will run a high 12 can you imagine in a 2800 lb car. the cobras are way heavier than my car. it will be plenty fast

yeah if you get a whole harness and 03-04 cobra engine you wont be far off, but anything other than that you will need a tune...

either way a tune will be worth extra hp and be safe at the time

    I've seen a 66 Mustang with a 4.6 installed ... if it fits a 66 Mustang it will fit in a Maverick.
