I would guess somewhere in the 11's. I would think you are going to be limited by the headers. Not sure about the t-5 either. What does the car weigh? Do you have a roll bar in it? I'm assuming your talking 1/4 mile?:) If the car has a full interior and is street legal it may be in the low 12's. I see your in TX. I believe most tracks there are 1/8 mile. I think that translates to the 6's but i'm still guessing.

I would guess 6.50s is close, what size of slick will make a difference also!

I agree with Mr. Graham, sorry I meant Don.

Headers are going to slow you down.

Lot of questions to answer before I could say.

Rule of thumb for every 1 pound of rotion weight you remove it's the same as 10 pounds of dead weight, so what front wheels and tires are you running?

Have you removed anything inside the car? Was this a car with AC?
Does the car still have the sway bar on it?

i have centerline 15x5's in the front, the car weighs 3000 lbs it has an 8pt roll cage. the slicks are 29.5 13.5's on centerline 15's. it has been tubbed so it has no back seats and it has no rear sheet metal in the trunk because it has been subframed. it has recaro buckets in the front it still has the sway bar.it will pick the front tires up on the street if that helps any. i am running 1/4 mile

Oh yea... I remember now. I used to work at the Pep Boys there on 183 (Research), just south of you.
Glad you found us and get some pics of the air gap. Or some video, we love that kinda stuff. :yup:
Sorry to jump off your question without an answer...

First time out? How much experience do you have with the T5? I'm thinking mid to low 11's at first, but with that suspension and tire I would expect it to have mid 10's potential. Not to rag on you, but most people when they first start ringing out a car it takes a while to get the feel for it. That's why I thought it would start with mid 11's.

yeah, i got about a years worth of experience on a street mustang (04) that had a t5 in it which ran 13.20's. the t5 in the comet now has 80,000 miles and hardened gears so the shift pattern is pretty well set in. also, before we put the heads and cam in the comet i drove it to school daily so hopefully i'll be able to pull out a 10.99 by the end of the night.

Sounds like you are on your way! I've seen so many guys at the drag strip that just don't know how to shift a manual at the track. Good luck and let us know how you do!

I'm thinking 3000 pounds is going to hurt that time also. Let us know what happens. Good luck, but I don't believe your going to see 10's with that weight. But I was wrong once before.:biglaugh:
