Installed a temp gauge when I went with the new converter. I have not really friven it far as I am still "tweaking" a few things but... My gauge never leaves the peg of 140* on the tranny! I pulled the sending unit out (mechanical) and held a flame to it for a few seconds and sure enough the needle moved to 180* It shifts fine, fluid looks good and bright red.. Is it just that 20 mins is not enough to heat up the tranny fluid? I have done several full stall launches (2700rpm) and it stays at 140* Should I be worried? Scotty

No need to worry about that! That trans outta last darn near forever running that cool.

I'd be worried if it was over 200 though. That's when the fluid starts to burn (like a GM TH700R4 trans...they constantly run hot).

I wouldnt be worried. The cooler the fluid the better. It sounds like it works when it gets hot. Which line did you put it in (to radiatior or from) I put one on my truck and the directions say to put it after the radiator so mine doesnt read hot . It reads the coolest the fluid will be.

It is measuring the temp from the tranny to the cooler and radiator. I wanted worst case scenario. Scotty

    **Thanks for the prompt answers
