I am replacing my radiator and need to drain my c4 tranny. Do I just drain it by losing it from radiator is is there a plug to drain the c4?

There is no plug to drain it and you probably wont lose that much trans fluid by unhooking it from the rad. If you want to keep the fluid in for sure though just find some little rubber caps to slip over the ends of the trans lines.

you dont need to drain the trans to swap radiators...

just undo the trans lines going in and out of the radiator, hardly any trans fluid will come out...just dont start it with the lines off:dancing:

just put an oil drain pan under your rad and undo the lines. like they said, you'll just get a few drops.

Hi all. Never did understand why so many auto manufacturers didn't put on oil pan drains. I mean they could have made them to countersink into the pan if it was 'catching on something that they were worried about'.

It can be a real mess sometimes when there is no drain. Yeah, if I had the pan off, I would also install a drain if I ever did another.

    Engineers. Bah, humbug!

I think that usually if your going to change your tranny fluid, you should change the filter also, so you'd have to remove the pan anyways.

Yeah, but it's easier and neater to get it off when the pan is already drained.:)

Even with a drain plug in the transmission pan it is a mess after you pull the pan. It slowly leaks from everywhere after the pan is off - and it keeps leaking for days.

I have an oil pan, about 3'X4', that I leave under there for any dripping. I learned the hard way.:)
