center link? what else is it called. I need one to get my front end alligned

    the alignment shop called it a center link. what else could it be called?

    sorry to start a new thread but I am trying to get the parts together to get his done befor eI wear the inside tread of a new set of tires

    Thats what it's called a centerlink. It is the bar that the pitman arm bolts onto and controls steering. Why do you need a new one? Are the holes out of round? Napa has them, I believe they carry a Moog product replacement.

    I call it a centerlink also but have heard it called a drag link many times.

    they dont wearout normaly. find out why you need it before you get it. if you power stearing then the controle valve on it may have a problem.

    Yup "Center link".At least thats what us Yankees call it.Right Frank???:biglaugh:
    Definitely find out why it needs to be replaced.

    If it's a power drag link you cannot buy new or reman.Has to be used

    its a drag link

    And as noted above, there is no real reason for it to "wear out" . Better double check the diagnosis. jmo

    I needed one once ...

    As a kid, I drifted my 71 Torino into a curb so hard the passenger side front wheel was folded up under the car ... the wheel was facing the pavement! Everything was still somewhat attached... just folded the lower A-arm ... it "popped" back into place when I backed the car off the curb.

    The worst part ... I was stone-cold sober when I did it ... :D Did not impress my passengers one bit ...

    The center link was bowed a couple of inches.
