Here's a few pics of Jamie's car and mine, reunited 2 1/2 years after we bought them from the same guy, cdeal. His was supposed to be the parts car for mine. Both went to good homes, and both look much different than now than when we bought them....

Thanks for posting, Bobby! I've been meaning to, but haven't gotten around to it.

Here is what the '72 looked like when I bought it:

Did you run either of them down the track?

Nope. My heater core leaked all the water out, at that time I didn't know why it ran hot when I went in. I think it cost extra to run it down the track, you probably had to enter in one of the classes to run it, and go through tech. We just went for the car show.

Mine just has a 200 in it, not worth running down the track.

Good deal. They don't have the FFW here anymore. Worked on my car yesterday. Pulld the engine out and hope to get another one in before the Gathering. Just too hot to work on it. Supposed to be 115 here today.

The wife and stepson are flying out there Aug 22nd. The heat is keeping me from wanting to go.

Thanks, Gene. I took a lot of ribbing along the way about taking so long, but with only some Fridays and Saturdays to work on it, it has been like forever. It's still not a show car on par with Dan or Ray's cars, but I'm proud of it like it is, and proud I could show it with them, and it can only get better. Lots of guys wouldn't want an unfinished car beside theirs, but I didn't hear any complaints about mine. That just shows what a bunch of good guys most Maverickers are!:thumbs2: [And Cometers too!:rofl2:]

Mine was sitting between the Boss 429 Mav and Dan's Grabber! Those cars are like not even in the same universe as mine, much less the same ball park.. I wanted to go move over next to Frank's car or something.. :rofl2:
