Today I received a new aluminum radiator and I got a Taurus electric fan a couple of days ago. I cut it according to the tech article, but it is just barely hitting the fan pulley. I guess it is because this new radiator is thicker than the stock one. Has anybody experienced this problem, and does anyone hav any ideas on how to get it to fit?

Yeah, I got one of these radiators http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=45697, and I flipped the fan so that the motor is offset to the passenger side, and there is barely any clearance at all. I will try and get a picture tomorrow, but the thing that is bothering me is the center stud type thing in the middle of the pulley. Is it ossible to trim this piece at all?

I had the same problem when I tried to install the Taurus fan. No clearance between the water pump and fan.

Maybe you can figure it out.

There seems to be different length snouts on SBF waterpumps. I used to think they were all the same but they aren't.

Would the difference be Roller Motor to Non-Roller Motor?? The pumps are a little different.

    Not necessarily.

    I got a complete pulley setup from a 79 F-150
It had the same accesories as mine, put it on my 80s block in the mustang. Used the same spacers and bolts, and it didn't line up.

My block isn't a roller and neither was the 79

Well, I got it to fit by taking the lock washers off of the pulley bolts. Now there is enough clearance. Thanks for the suggestions.

My roller motor in my mav has 6'' shaft ( that is from the water pump mount on the timing cover to the fan surface on the water pump pully ). My non roller motor in my 56 F100 has a 5'' shaft measuered the same way.
    Just my :2cents: Jay

You can also get button allen heads at most hardware stores, it will give just a little bit more plus if it does touch the buttons give more. I also ground down the pully centering pin
