Translate that for me since I'm a car mechanics newbie.

Yea, I was tired at the time of the posting, I didnt realize what year it was.

And yea, the PCV does connect where your talking about, and the oil cap vent goes where your talking about also. lol I was dead tired when I posted.

As for the "manual brakes and steering" It means it does not have power assisted steering or brakes. You may have to manually pump brakes instead of just pushing down on them once like you would do with power brakes, and the steering isn't as easy to steer from a dead stop like it would be with power assisted steering

Good thing there is a tech article on how to switch to disc brakes then huh? I was looking at that and may go in that direction.

Even if you go to disk brakes, they will still be manual brakes..

Disc brakes were optional in 74.

It's going to take more effort to steer it and it will require more pedal pressure to stop the car, since there is no power assist. Both can be converted to power assist as it was optional on these cars.IMO,I would convert to manual disc brakes and get used to manual steering. With a properly aligned front end and not real wide front tires it will drive fine, just need a little extra grunt in the parking lot.:DBTW,looks like a pretty nice little car(y)

You know something I have to get back and look at the specs of the car because unless the previous owner did a bumper mod, my car does not have 1974 bumpers. I seem to have 1973 Mav bumpers on my car. I noticed this because I saw a pic of a stock 74 bumper and those bumpers had the big bumper with two bars stick up. Mines doesn't have those.
