hi, i used a JoHan model pic and photoshop to create this maverick racer, im going to make a shortfilm about a sick, near death old racer that remembers his maverick that he raced in the 70`s, is sitting in his back yard, so he starts a police chase that ends in a 1/4 mile track.
    :drive:
i based this design in this 1975 xb australian falcon:

what do you guys think??

    Sounds PRETTY KEWL...!

    Ya know...

I own a Comet today because 6 months ago I was staring at my Honda and wishing for an American built hot rod. While cruising the Buy & Sell on the web, "Mad Max" came on TV and I was inspired by his car - I came full circle from Australian muscle cars to the Mercury Cyclone, then it clicked... I should look for a Comet!

Some of those Australian cars are so beautiful...

I like the idea of accentuating the lines of the body with the blue paint... for a Comet it would be the tail lights... for a Maverick it would be hood scoops (or a grabber hood) and I guess like the Australian Falcon with the Torino-like back windows, the Maverick has nicely shaped windows to accentuate the fastback.

Are you a filmmaker or something? Good luck with it!

Oh, the jo-han model kit is actually a comet….:sorry:

Those damn XB falcons are everybody’s dream isn’t it? A shame they didn’t sold them in America. They should make new XB falcon bodies just like the new 67-68 mustangs, don’t they?
Yes, I have two hobbies, cars and filmmaking, so why not bond them together and make the best maverick film ever….but I wont tell you how the shortfilm ends…:jumping:
Similar color scheme like you car mavaholic.
My 1970 maverick has a worn out black paint, so that’s why I’m designing its new looks.
    Glad you liked it.
