Ok, whenever i do a good bit of work to a car i like to make a thread following everything i am doing. I bought a 73 maverick 4 door about 6 months ago and am finally starting the process of redoing a good bit on the car. It has a 250 in it so hopefully the gas mileage is decent when im done. : Took all the trim off and leaving it off...about to start bodywork and get it ready for paint heres a few pics of the car...paid $400 for this thing, had to get a ps pump, steering wheel, and a manifold and doughnut gasket.
Heres a list of what im getting so far: 15x7" chrome wheels for the front and 15x8" chrome wheels for the rear 225/60/15 tires on the back and 205/60/15's on the front ( Falken ze-912's) Lowering the front with mustang 1" lowered springs with another ring cut off and a couple more things to help the springs... Stereo System Order this muffler and running a y pipe and duals out of the back of it..going from 2" exhaust to 2.25" with tips ill post actual pics as they arrive!
Looks like some good ideas so far(dig the wheels),don't expect too much mpg out of the 250.High teens-low 20s are about as good as you can hope for.I'd go ahead & v8 it if it were me.
i would be happy with 16+ ... it might turn into a v8 later but right now i need the gas mileage. My other vehicle gets 5mpg
I decided to only go with 2.25" exhaust...after looking at a 2.5" pipe they look too big (for a 6 cylinder) .... anyone else have any good ideas on things that would make it look nice?
well get some nice buckets fer the front to. its always a good idea to now what you want fer a finished product befor you start eny retoration.i can see that yer doin that so it should come out nice! good luck with it.
bought the rims today...came up to $658 shipped and insured with free lug nuts and chrome valve stems
my 250 ran great until i started loosing compression it now gets 7 mpg but yours looks like a great project i really like the wheels. do u mind if i ask where you got them?
