ok so i put on a floor shifter and now my reverse lights dont work not even if i have the colum shifter in reverse any ideas as to what it may be
Mine too. Theres some wires we didn't hook up to a switch in the shifter. I haven't found them(or looked for them) but they're there and it's an easy fix.
What year is your car? Some years have the reverse light switch at the bottom of the steering column, along with the neutral safety switch, so if you played around with that stuff, thats a good place to start.
The power for the reverse lights is also fed from the light in the radio, so if you've done anything with the stock radio....
Like a kickin CD deck with color changing screen and 22 presets and built in pre amp and equalizer with a detachable faceplate? Or an 8 track?
I can't remember, but I think it's a blue wire with a red stripe, power is fed to the radio light first, then to the switch at the bottom of the steering column. Strange but someone in Detroit thought it was a good idear.(as Paul Sr. says)
