I just got a good deal on some really clean escort gt seats and am gonna put them in my mav. i am confident that i can do it but i am just asking for tips or advice that might help me avoid troubles or make my day even easier/better. i am pumped tho
LOL! Your asking about something I did about 15 years ago. I know I drilled new holes, but don't recall making any brackets. Maybe I was needing to but just didn't take the time to do so. I have had them out now for some time and should be putting them back in in a couple of weeks, or three. At that time I am intending to do it right.
o sorry i didnt realize that wasnot recent. i just sat them in and they are comfortable and fit nice. i am going to get them reupholstered soon and i cant wait. did i mention i paid almost 40 bucks for them and they dont have any rips or tears or stains really for that matter
el reno and no they dont have the fish netting there were no headrests i got some from a junk yard that lookked good
i like those seats...when i "installed" my 89 tempo seats i just drilled new holes, i cut a piece of the back bracket so that they would sit leve, and they are about 3" shorter than the bench seat i had, which is awesome because with the bench my 14" steering wheel was touching my knees.
ya i got the seats and then looked to see how difficult/easy it would be to install them and was surprised that it looked extremely easy with just a few mods
for my new seat mounts would it be best just to use 1 inch angle iron or is there something better? and easier? for one side on each seat i may try to cut and weld the mounts from the old bench seat we will see.
If your good with a welder try and weld a longer studd and then use square tubing as spacer... I would like to know what you encounter so I can start thinking about mine. Pics would be nice...
i am brutal with a welder but i have a friend who owes me about 50 favors for reasons unsaid and he is actually ceertified and used to do it for a job and i will for sure post pics when i get it done and any problems i run into
Just got the driver seat in today:bananaman. i will post pics when i have a chance to take em. it was moderately easy
