shortened 9"

    Here is what i have, a 9" rear end out of a 71 or 72 4 door mercury I am going to shorten and put in 70 mav. ? is where can i send the axles to get shortened, or buy new ones?

    If you are going to put some power through them go with new ones. Strange Engineering is good to work with.

    Low power street applications I have had a local machinist cut them. All that is needed is an indexer and a cutter to re-spline. Best bet might be to hit the telephone and call up a few shops near you. Truck drive line shops are good places to start. I've used FleetPride for some things and they are National.     Thanks I located a local shop they will cut the housing for 150 and 2 new axles for around 340

    thats a good price. thats about what we would charge you hear at san diego gear and axle.
