I just had the A/C on my 1973 V8 Maverick Grabber completely rebuilt. I was told by the mechanic that the side vents are not connected to the A/C and never were. I remember having Mavericks in the past and I'm sure cold air came out those side vents. Could the hoses have been removed? Roz
...this is where i got my ...new vent hose... http://www.nostalgicairparts.com/ac/duct-hose-and-vents-4.php ...:Handshake...
if those side hoses are gone...that means you have cool air floating outa both ends of the "center" vent wasting cool air behind your dash! when it can be blown onto you and i believe its 2 1/2 "
Yeah, I'm not getting much cold air in the car through the center vent, so most of it is probably back behind the dash. Thanks a ton. I just called my mechanic and he's going to order the hoses. Roz
The 77 I got my parts from had a plastic tube connecting the center to the passenger side vent and the flexi tube stuff on the drivers side. So I would say they are different.
Not all cars had the hard plastic tube. I believe only 1976-1977 had the hard tube. 1973-1975 had the flex tube on the passenger side.
