Well I started the new billet and 6al project tonight and ran into a small snag. The new dizzy hits my water temp sending unit and will not seat! Anyone now of a low profile sending unit available ?

I know I can tap the reat of the intake and install it there but I would ratherr not.

    What intake are you using?

On my Weiand intake, theres 3 places to put it, so I just moved it over to another spot, just swapped out the plugs.

I have 2 spots in the front of the manifold..

I think there may be 3 spots, not sure. I'll have to take a picture in the AM.

My intake is really old also, I got it w/ my Comet, which had sat for years and years

Hrm, I'll look around thru my box of "junk" today and see if I have any shorter sending units.

I know I have factory ones from several 302s in trucks and cars, and one from a 4 cylinder mustang. If I find something thats shorter and think it will work, I'll let you know.

Got it. Unit for 1965 289 is about 1" shorter than what I had. A bit of mild grinding on the botom of the dizzy and I am set.. Ended up mountinf the 6al below the package tray
