well the buck tag was fitted in front of the place where u put the baterry, i dont know if thats the original spot... before i paint to the original color i have to remove all the rust it was a cannadian car until 1986...
Wow, if it was a Canadian version of the Sprint, then it is even rarer! Canadian Sprints, which they made very few, had a Maple Leaf on the rear quarter instead of a Flag Shield. You can get repos of the flag, but I don't think so of the leaf. There is a member on this site that has a Canaduian Sprint and you can see the Maple Leaf I am referring to on his car. Jim
damm looks like ive struck gold! btw since i cant resolve the carb missing part problem, iam think of putting an aftermarket one... does any one know wich is the best carb for the maverick that is bolt on the mainfold and has good clearance from the hood? what do you guys normaly use on the mavs? (with no engine mods)
Howdy. I would definitely like to add you car to the registry. You can check out the registry here: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=17962&highlight=sprint+registry
St.Thomas built Mavericks had them, along with some built in Dearborn. The DSO is B1, which is Ford of Canada's Central District, which is pretty cool, someone exported it, and it would have had the Maple Leaf. Neat Car!
Been out of town for a while. WOW Nice Car!! A Maple Leaf Sprint in Lisbon? Someone went to a lot of trouble to send that car over there. Super Nice Ride!! Jerry
I got a car from a friend of mines who lives in algarve, we only had the car for a couple months and he wanted to sell the mav cuse he wanted to buy a 52 Pontiac. The story was that the previous owner was a carpenter and he painted the car in white, thous removing the blue stripes, maybe the car was in some kind of acident. This is the only information if got... the old cannadian license plate was DDA 889 How the heck the car ended up here beats me i think is only maverick around here...
