On August 16th, the Kentuckiana Classic Cougar Club, of which I am a member, is hosting a one day show. This year's edition of the Midwest Cougars and All-Ford Show will be held at the Masonic Home on Frankfort Ave. in Louisville. Pre-registration is $15 if done by July 30th. Show begins at 10am. Aprox. 150 cars are expected to attend. I attended last year's show, held at Sheperdsville. It was a very relaxing day. Lots of prizes, awards, and friendly company. I usually combine the show with a visit with my family in Hodgenville, just south of there. Last year, I had the opportunity to visit with Wardf and speak on the phone with Jerryfow2. I am still up in the air as to whether I will be there this year. A lot depends on the increasing price of crude oil. Driving an old car that doesn't like regular at 15-17 miles per gallon gets expensive over 2000 miles. It would be great to see some of this community represented at the show. See if you can make it. Thanks for the info. sounds like a great day. even though it's a Cougar event, im assuming all Fords are welcome...
Mean, the show is an All Ford show with classes for all types of Fords. It is being held at the same place the Derby City Mustang Club held a national show on Memorial Day weekend '07 with over 600 cars, mostly Mustangs. In order to get a large turnout, most of the cars will be non-Cougar. In fact, the club members in the Cougar club park together and are not judged. It would be great to see some nice Mavericks and Comets there. All Ford powered cars are welcome. The Derby City Mustang Club has pledged several cars. It will be a great show, no matter what kind of Ford you drive. I may even be able to get them to add a Mav/Comet class if there is enough interest. John, it would almost be worth the trip up there to go over to Mazzolli's(or Mazzoni's) over by Bowman Field for some rolled oysters and beer! Good eating!! Jim
All I have is Frankfort Ave. Perhaps John can shed more light on an actual address. The place has numerous trees for shade and is a great place for a car show. Go to the club website for more info and download the show flyer @ www.kyianacougar.org Jim
Well, I really should spend the money and fix the rear gears to the Explorer, but I need a vacation. So, next week, I am headed to Ky. I plan on being at my sister's house on Thurs. On Fri evening, there is a cruise in Jeffersonville with the Falls City Mustang club in downtown Jeffersonville, Ind. Jerry, maybe if you can't make the show, maybe you can come to the cruise. It would be great to meet you and see that new Stallion. I will stay in the Louisville area somewhere on Fri night and attend the show on Sat. John, maybe you can come to the show and we can go over to Mazzoni's for some rolled oysters and seafood. After all, it's only 10 minutes from your house. Dave, bring your car or just yourself and join us. Maybe we could all go out to eat something. It doesn't have to fancy. I still need to get my Pizza King and White Castle fix, too. Gotta have those burp burgers, mmm!! We have Crystal, which pales in comparison to good ole WC. I am still not sure which car, Mustang or Cougar, I will bring, but I am coming, anyway. Hope to see some of you there. Jim

Joe, Come on down! The Kentuckiana Classic Cougar Club is as friendly a group of folks as I have ever been around. I first met them back in '04 when I was Pres. of the Sunshine State Cougar Club and brought myself and 8 other members from Fl to Louisville for the East Nationals. We caravaned up and back and it was a fantastic trip. It was like going back home. Of course, it was in a sense because I was born in Louisville and spent 40 some years in that part of the country. Last year, I joined the club as a member and made a similar trip to this same show and had a wonderful time. You can't beat Ky hospitality!! When I retire in 2 years, I plan on spending a good part of the summers in Ky. By then, I hope to have a Mav or Comet to take to some of the shows there, too. Ward, come up and join us, too. Jim
CoutangMan, Shoot yeah we can hook up!!! I don't know if I can make the show or not but I am all in for getting together at a cruise in! (My kids love ice cream). Shoot me the time and location for the cruise and I can make it happen! Look Forward to meeting you and who ever else shows up! Jerry
Jerry, The cruise is from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the QuarterMaster Station on the corner of 10th & Meigs in downtown Jeffersonvile, Ind. on Friday, Aug. 15th. I will call you when I get into the area and we can set a time to hook up. PM me with your phone #. Jim
I am packed and ready to go. Plan on getting a few winks and heading out around 4am to Kentucky. I am taking the black '69 XR7. I want to get through Atlanta during late morning if possible. John, Jerry, I will be in contact with you when I get settled. I will be in Louisville on Fri and will attend the cruise in Jeffersonville. Will spend the night at one of the club member's home and go to the show on Sat. Back home on Mon. Hopefully, I will see some of you there. Jim
