When I bought my rebuild m/c, the hoses didn't fit right. That was several years ago, and I don't remember how I fixed it, but I think I kept buying different ones until my hoses fit. The lines on my car are 3/16", and the front hole is smaller than the one on the rear. Same sized lines, but larger brass fitting.

Anyway, I bought 2 more and when I got them, they have all been different sizes. The one I got today was HUGE!!! The holes were like 1/2" and 3/4".

What is the secret to buying a master cylinder with the correct sized fittings?

Does anyone have a successful experience buying one, and could you suggest brands or part numbers? Which store should I shop at?

When I bought a new master cylinder for my '72, I had to get brass adapters to make it work with my existing lines...

That is where I am now, but I cannot seem to find the correct sizes and threads to get it from 3/4" down to 3/16".

How many adapters did you have to use on each line?

Is this for front disc's? If it is, it's the same m/c as a 71-73 Mustang, just with a different rod. The last one I bought I ordered the Mustang one. I have a brand new one from Napa, I can post a pic if you want.

It is not for my car, I am buying it for Comet666 in Sweden. He somehow lost the rod, or the last one I bought him didn't have one, so that is really an important part of this purchase.

He got the first one from me, installed it, and found that the lines don't fit. So rather than trying to guess at the size, I was going to buy him a variety of fittings, and he has a flare tool.

Then I couldn't find the rod, so I figured I would buy him another m/c with rod, but the ones I am getting now just have ENTIRELY wrong sized holes.

His car runs good, he is restoring it, but it sits in the yard because the m/c isn't connected...

I have 2 new master cylinders in my garage that are identical. They are for a Disc/Drum application. I believe they are 3/8 and 7/16. The one on my car looks like 5/16 and 3/8 which is a Drum/Drum application. I am trying to find the correct fittings as I really hate the look of adapters.

I wonder if I need to look into drum/drum m/cs to see if they will fit...

I got into helping Robert with parts about a year ago. He is very honest, and immediately paypals the money I spend back into my account. I have provided him with a radiator, master cylinder, and countless fittings, fuses, nuts and bolts, etc. He just cannot find them in Sweden. I hate to see someone with the desire to fix up a car and not have the parts to do so.

We really got started because he was winning stuff on ebay, but they wouldn't ship to Sweden, so he would have it shipped to me, I would rebox it, and add all the other items he needs in the box.

The Drum Drum ones look alot different than the Disc Drum ones. Try going to NAPA, they sell brand new master cylinders for not much more than rebuilt, plus with a rebuilt you never know what your going to get.

I got mine at NAPA also and they helped me find the fitting and use their double flare tool.

I think I found the relation :yup: "RAISE HELL AND DRINK WINE"
