Ok I've had this car for about 2 weeks now and I've gotten a chance to do a few things, but not much. I've got a few days off soon and I'm about to really go through this car to see what I've got. What would you all suggest that I check, mostly under the hood? I've already got a list to check, but I want to make sure I don't miss anything.
compression change tranny filter/fluid including torque converter ball joints pressure test cooling system flush cooling system add new coolant all new points/plugs /condensor/cap/rotor/wires new air filter and pcv valve bleed brakes all lights carry on boys... what else?
When I did all that to my car I still had a day and a half of weekend left over. And it wasn't a long one either.
muffler bearings. don't forget the muffler bearings! look for pinched wires or scorched places near wires.
if he checks the muffler bearings then he needs to make sure that the bottom of his turn signal resivior hasn't become brittle, as turnsignal fluid is highly crosive and has been known to eat right through the plastic bottles over the course of many years. :bananaman :bananaman
usually there's a plug in the rear housing. easiest way is to remove it and stick your finger in or just fill it until it reaches the whole. i use synthetic oil in mine. p.s. i'm not sure if all the 8" have them. my 8" ones and my 9" both have them.
why the hell are we still talking about turn signal fluid? hahaha I think this joke has run it's coarse, lol
