Crate Engines?

    I aways thought it was ok to use a "High Volume" not "High Pressure"

    I have always used a HV pump on mine, just not HP. Never had a problem.:)

    the bigest reason to use a standered pump on a 302 is that the drive shaft for the pump can twist and snap with the extra load placed on it with the high volume or high press pumps.

    Which is the reason to not use a stock oil pump drive shaft. (y) I am not sure I would run the stock shaft with a stock pump.

    1970 maverick 5.0 t 5 trans 59 ford rear with 4.11 cogs
    the milodon shaft is the way to go ...cheap insurance.I'd just build the engine myself.

    Thats the first thing that should be replaced on a 302, I use ARP.

    I have one of CME's 302 short block going in my 73 right now. It seems fine. Nice and clean and tight
