I wasnt trying to Diss firemen,I honestly have a lot of respect for what you guys do and feel none of you are paid enough... I have had the unfortunate opportunity to be on a fire crew while in the navy.I was on temporary duty on an emergency reclamation team.(we would respond to military plane crashes/accidents) on the base where I was stationed.Seen a few.:(
That said... the Few strips/tracks around here allways have a fire truck/crew on hand while events are going on.I shouldnt ASSume:hide:sorry.

Man that really harshes my mello. I like Firebirds.
I like most cars and seeing one die is just brutal. Especially a sweet T/A.

man that fire was when the track first opened. they had very min amount of fire equipment. i think that was around 2001 or 2. now barona dragstrip has a dedicated "saftey safari" truck. i was there two weeks ago and a chevelle in the pits had a bat cable going thru the trunk floor arcing and a leaking fule pump. it looked like a blow torch. they would hit it with fire extingishers and it would relight. the bat shut off switch was in the bumper after the cable went thru the floor. they end up jerking off the bat cable off. they went thru at least 5 fire extingishers. the tail lights had melted, it had awsome paint on it and that got all burnt up on one side of the quarter pannel. oh ya it had a nitrous bottle in the trunk right next to the bat.

I've never been to Barona, but I hear it's a fun track. I talked to Jay Caison a few weeks ago. He's the track manager. Told him I wanted to try it out sometime.:)

I'm planning on it, bummer you won't be there.

Fallon's too far for me. I hope they get a decent turnout though.

I'm not going to Fallon either. But that's the same weekend as the "Run to the Pines" car show in Pinetop, Az.:)
