dont know about mufflers on the 6 clys. autolite makes motorcraft spark pulgs. you get the same thing so but the cheaper cost one

Most short, performance mufflers, like a 40 series, will sound like an elephant farting when place behind a stock inline six cylinder. Fortunately, it won't smell like one...just sound like one.

I'd say dual glasspacks instead.. But if I had to choose I'd go with the flows.

I vote cherry bomb. But a turbopack sounds good on a 6cyl

I have had really good results with glasspaks on 4- and 6-cylinder vehicles. Deepens the tone without the "fart-can" sound of the ricers.

Had them on 4-cyl Suzuki Samurai, 83 Nissan 280ZX, 81 4-cyl Chevy Luv (Isuzu), and several other cars, including 302 maverick with dual exhaust. I loved them on every car I ever used them on. A nice deep gutteral tone, without interior noise and no "fart can" sound outside.

I would guess that Cherry Bombs would be similar, but run-of-the-mill glasspaks are $15 each...

I got a glass pack on my six (probably the same as a cherry bomb but it ain't red). It rumbles pretty good at fast idle to 2000 rpm but it does have that 6 cylinder exhaust note at higher revs... and it regularly sets off car alarms (ha ha)

the only really important thing to me is that it's loud as hell INSIDE with all the windows down... esp. when the rear windows are "popped open"... which is what I've been doing all summer. I can only listen to my stereo when it's parked...

I'm considering a 2 part 6 cyl header to split into duals and running a pair of the cherry bomb "Extremes" (less than 10" long) so I can fire the pipes straight out the side of the car instead of wrangling dual exhaust around the leaf springs and gas tank. It might sound wierd... it might sound kewl.... one way to find out...
