it couldn't hang on at 6 grand...but it better get to hanging... there's a lot more of them comming... Jeff and i adjusted the pully alignments a little and the belt had some cracks in it. heading for the dyno.... Oh...thanks Don but i got it now...
While getting belts at the parts store 3 people on their way from Birmingham to Savannah walked in asked the counter guy where could they find a shop that is open to fix their 98 Explorer. She said the engine was revving up high then idle back down. Frank, being Frank, told them it sounds like a throttle position switch gone bad and volunteer us to go look at it. We cross the busy street to the convenient store to take a look. Now I know what a TPS is, but I ain't got any idea what they look like. My Maverick or Falcon does not have one. I looked down and saw the throttle cable end sticking out sideways out of a plastic box on the fender apron. I put it back into the box and turn the plastic cap to lock it back on the plastic box with my hand. Frank said try it now... She said she jump up and down if that was what’s wrong and then she started the engine. It took every bit of 10 seconds to fix. Most of that time was spent looking for the throttle cable. Frank told her to jump up and down...and she did and then we left.
...did that the first time i tried out my new transmission...threw it sideways in the road when i hit 2nd. ......
