Does anybody know how to correctly flair the rear fenders on my 73 maverick, really want to know...thanks.
Good question. From what I've gathered, one can use a baseball bat (yes, a BAT) "installed" between the tire and the fender and slowly roll the car working the bat around the lip of the fender. This is only good for removing the fender lip and does give a little more room for bigger tires. Another method is to totally flare the perimeter of the fender outward. This, I believe, requires the expertise of a body shop. Some say it removes part of the nice lines in the rear quarter. Personally, I think I'm going to do this to allow wider tires (can only get 29.5" X 9" now with the lip curled under). It's either that or mini-tub it (which isn't entirely outta the qustion for me yet).
