this is gonna be hard to explain but when you are in drive and you give some gass something rattles and clicks over and over again... its pretty loud and its embarrising and it only does it when you step on the gas and it doesn't do it in park or neutral... sound familiar to anybody???

Could be a u joint, crawl under the car and see if your driveline moves around much with the car in park.

i tracked down a funy clicking, it was my wheel bearings. then there was that odd clunk when you go on or off the gas, that was the trans mount, and then thre was that banging whenever id hit a bump, that was the missing sway bar bushing that let the bar hit the frame. ive heard these are common maverick noises.

How true it is, you fix something then you find something else its a viscous circle but you know you love it, at least on these cars you can fix it, and not depend on a shop to plug it into a computer to tell them whats wrong and start chaging parts until they get the right one.

I'd check for a loose or worn Flux Capacitor mount bushing. Usually it's the rear right side that goes and they are a bear to replace. GL.

Check you emergency brake cable connector, it could be rattling on the exhaust.

Does it sound like a sewing machine? #1 - check all your fluids. #2 - take your valve covers off and check to see if a rocker fell off a lifter, although I suppose that wouldn't be too loud. #1 will be easier.
You could check to see if your engine has anything less than 300 ci capacity. If not, it will need to be replaced. Also, Bob's right - the FC unit tends to throw a bushing from time to time.
