I agree with your father. It'll be a total waste of time and money. Your better off to save the money you'd spend, and buying a nicer car with it. Maverick, Comet, whatever...
I should park my S10 Blazer next to my Maverick and see how it would line up, I would think the Blazer has a narrower track than the Maverick.
I just don't see the joy in driving some hacked up thing around, even if you could make it look factory build, people would still wonder... "Why??"
A lifted S10 truck would make sense, but not some cobbled up Maverick/Frankenstein's Monster...

Hack the front clip off the damaged mav.Put a tube frame in the front(you can buy kits for this from the likes of alston/chassis engineering etc...What your going to spend to screw it up badly you might as well do the tube thing.Tie it all together with a cage/sub frame connectors and then drop a 460 in it and see how long it takes you to decide to tub/4 link the rear.Just as much work/time/money and when its done its still a mav all be it a pretty radical one.$.02

I just think it would make for a fun Tuff truck. Something no one else will run. Think it would be an awesome picture to see coming off a jump. Like i said in another post. My own maverick version of a little monster truck

Better yet, Get a good Mav front clip and put it onto an s10 frame. You will not see many Mav pick ups

If I had listened to my father, I'd have another boring, run of the mill, late 80's to mid 90's Mustang right now instead of a Maverick. I have no regrets about getting into Mavericks instead, and he warmed up to the idea pretty quick after that.

If the Maverick is wrecked and junk to begin with, do what ever makes you happy. Just don't sink too much money into it until you're absolutely sure it's going to work out like you hope.. my rule of thumb for things like this, is don't spend more money on the parts then you know you can get back out of them...

The smart @$$ remarks are uncalled for! If you dont like what he's doing and dont have anything constructive to add there is no need for you to even be posting on this thread.

As you can see......johnson said all of us should "feel free to debate".

I am not even sure what Shineysideup was referring to??? But regardless......we were given permission to "feel free to debate".

If thats the kind of attitude you want members of this board to have then more power to you, but I myself dont feel there is a need for members like that and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

    Your welcome Johnson. :Handshake
