I meant The 4x4 and truck maverick ideas were soooo far out there and uncool that he was not likely to have a good idea by 4pm tomorrow. Hopefully soon and with everyones help he can come back to reality.

Sounds like a very fair and honest opinion........which......was asked for by the original poster. I.....for one......thank you for doing what the original poster requested.

You could find a Mustang and graft the front end of it on there. I think I saw a photo on here of a Mav done that way. Mavstang I think that was the caption on it. Or just hold on to it until you find either the parts or the cash to do the Tube front end with a fiberglass front clip. It's your car and the sky and your wallet are the only limits.
Good Luck with what ever you try.

Ok. Chill guys. Gettin a little rough there. I am taking in all opinions. Many closed minded and at the same time the original question was never answered. Granted the maverick body is going on the s10 frame regardless. The question is do i make it look like a standard car does or do i jack it up. Sadly the decision has been made now that i have the ok from the officials at the arena i will begin working on the maverick Tuff truck this weekend

I guess if you're gonna do it anyway, might as well go all out. The end result might be a fair amount lighter than a lifted S10.

Honestly, I don't like what you want to do, but it's your car and your money, I won't be affected by that. About the height, keep it car-like. Make it to look like a Rally Car.

I still don't get the 4x4 idea, if you want a jacked up vehicle, just get a pick up, suv or a jeep. Why don't you get an AMC Eagle, it is a car with Jeep drivetrain, I think that's more appropiate for your idea, IMO.

I liked the AMC Eagles. I thought they were a cool idea. My Aunt had one and they live in the country on top of a hill. That little Eagle made a lot of climbs in the snow and ice with no problem. She drove that for atleast 15 years. (y)

Johnson, here's a wikipedia entry on the AMC Eagle:

While on the amc topic I've hoped since i was 16 to win the lottery and buy the amc name from keep and start producing a new line of retro amc's

An Eagle might be an easier starting point instead of what you want to do to the Mav. Don't ya think???

but an eagle kind of defeats the purpose of his thoughts it wouldn't be as cool as a maverick on a 4x4 frame. he wants it to be a different thing than everyone else but still have some of the looks of a maverick

this idea is ok by me unless you are taking a good vehicle that is worth a decent amount of money.
