Hi, I am thinking about buying a 1974 maverick grabber. The only question I have is that it has two rust spots one on the roof witch is so bad it leaks water. And one on the floor witch has totally eaten a hole threw the drivers floor. Should i buy it anyways or pass. it has a 302 v8 runs strong.
    Thank you in advance Fernando.

i roof patch can be a tricky messy job and the hole in the floor is probably from a leaky cowl vent which a whole mess in its self to fix

id be really scared, but depending on the price it might something worth grabbing up

pics and the asking price might help us pass better judgment

Stick your head way up under the dash with a flashlight and look around. Check the torque boxes and the shackle mounting areas. You can do a search at the top for different topics like roof repaires etc...
    Good luck.

Like everyone said, rust repairs can be tricky and very expensive. Also, that car is not a Grabber. Looking again, it appears the car has more rust in the lower fenders, doors, and the rocker panels. Not sure it's worth $800, but that's me.

sorry I am just going by what the owner said. I asked if the tittle on the car says it is a grabber and he said yes.He also has another one almost identical but the hood says grabber and its red no orange. that thing on the side is just stained brown not rust i had the same opinion until looking at it in person.

Ask him what the vin# is. If it has a 93 in the vin it is a Grabber. If the number in the vin is a 91 it is a 2 dr. I would take a gallon jug of water and pour it in the cowl in front of the windshield. See where it comes out. If it comes out in the interior, leave as fast as you can. Good luck.:) The title will not say anyhthing about it being a Grabber.
