New member checking in from Washington state.

Hi guys, I am a new member here. I have always loved the body style of the classic Maverick & may be able to buy a 70-71 at a fair price, waiting for the owner to come back from FL. I am amazed at the advertised weight of the Maverick, which is far less than 3000 lbs. I am building a chopper, & dont have the money for a another project, lol. I have the chance at buying a Lightning motor as well, I will post info as I find more out. My plan would be a Prostreet Maverick, that is very streetable. which would be a long-term project. I have a friend who does great frame work, so I would like to ask a few questions.
1. With moving the springs inside the framerail, (tubbed)what size tires/wheel will this car take?
2. Are there any members here who have backhalfed their Maverick? If so what you you running for tire/wheel combo?

I will keep you posted as this project comes together.

Welcome to the board. What part of Washington are you from. We have numerous members there. I used to live in Bremerton and Port Orchard. I also worked for a while in Bellingham.
