Just found out about this yesterday, and it's only 20 miles from me!2thumbs: Looks like it's going to be a jam up place when finished, supposedly by spring 2009. I'm looking forward to it! http://i-22motorsports.com/index.html
Hey this is great news, Its even closer to me than BAMA. Keep us posted. It also looks like its not far from LYNN (winston county).
thats great......it seems all we have heard lately is tracks closing. Its nice to hear different news.
Different one Don. Here's link to the Earnhardt complex: http://www.alabamamotorsportspark.com/media/news_releases.html Can't wait for that one to open. Real close for me.
I am glad to see new tracks built. We where going to get a 1/8 mile track but the people around the area said it would be to loud. I don't get it!! they where puting it next to the dirt track thats been there for years.
the track is in eldridge alabama i do know. rumor has it that there will be running ihra sactioned events i will try to find out and get more info
About 12 miles from Lynn, about 30 from Bama. From what I hear, it's gonna put the hurtin' on both of them. Clay and I have been discussing getting some kind of a meet up in the spring somewhere, this might just be the place. Would be close enough for both East Miss and West Ala guys. And we won't turn away any GA guys that want to make the trip!
UPDATE: I rode to the NEW track today, WHAT a SITE all concrete and its smooth as a baby's rear. All return roads and pit roads are concrete 25 foot wide. The track is 50 foot wide with probably a 3 foot retaining wall all the way down. 2 Concession stands with bathrooms. Tons of spectator parking. Talked to one of the owners, Super nice guy, He said they were going to try to have it opened by March. TNT will be on Thursday nite to start with. Looks like we are going to have a wonderful track to use. Hope we can get up a MAVERICK MEET, hope to see all that can come be there. P.S. Ford84stepside i drove to Berry looking for your house, Couldnt find it though, I must have came in on the wrong side, Never did see the white school bus.
You couldn't see the old bus today because my truck was parked in front of it. If you remember seeing a white semi with a flatbed with a black tarp on the load, that was it. The track sounds great! I've yet to get up there, hope to in the next few weeks. I'm going to talk with them about getting something set up for us. From what a friend told me, and you have just repeated, that the track owners are super nice folks. Maybe Clay and me can stop by up there next week.
