Has anyone here ever had any experience with one of these heads? After I get the body work and interior done on my car I am thinking about putting some money in to the motor. I know I can probably get more bang for my buck out of a 302 but I want to be different. I am thinking of the aluminum head, fuel injection and a turbo. Why? Because I can.:chirp:

I have very similar plans as you!!! And for the same "to be different" idea!
Would that mean that we wouldn't be different then?

At least it wouldn't be cookie-cutter!!

We would be exactly the same but different.:hmmm: Let me know if you make any progress. I won't be starting my engine mods for quite a while.

I'd just love to smoke a big block with a small six banger. That would be very embarrassing for someone.

Not sure but don't the Aussie's have a great 6 cyl. performance head?

Yes they are a much better set up than the US log style, but are not easy to find. I would use one of those if I came across one. This alum. head is supposed to be the $h1t but I would like to hear from someone that has used one. I joined the Ford Six forum today. I am sure I will get some input there but I didn't want to join another forum. I belong to like 10 different forums for all the stuff that interests me.

That head has been a hot topic on the Ford 6 site for well over a year now. They even showed at SEMA a year or so ago. The guy that is doing this had a long list of buyers on the waiting list so the thread said. It's been available for about a year now.

The claims were pretty exciting and I've tossed it around a lot as well. The guy also has ribbed valve covers, timing gears, cams and more. Met him at the All Ford show at Knott's berry Farm two years ago. Seems nice, but not sure who has tried it.

The Aussie head has a 2bbl intake. Mikes offers a 4bbl intake for his Aluminum head.

He also has a fuel injection set up coming out this Summer. Perfect for a turbo 200!! With the head and a cam they are supposed to get over 200hp. Boost that thing with all the boost it can handle and who knows what you may have. I bet close to 300hp and still get 25mpg. Not bad for what it is.

Now FI over a carb is interesting. Turbo City in Los Angeles used to sell a FI throttle body set up for about $1200 that would fit 2 0r 4bbl intakes

the aussie head was actually part of the basis for the alu head but the aluminum head is a drastis improvment even over that, not to mention its aluminum. and by the time you get an aluminum head, have it shipped (from AU) and maybe rebuild it, youll be in just as deep $$$ and its not aluminum and doesnt flow as well

Weber and Holley both make a throttle body kit and are one of my possibilities. From what I have been reading, head flow and fuel are two of the biggest shortcomings of the small sixes. If you look at a small six out of a BMW they have the modern technology and make big power. The only thing I won't be able to do is an OHC and four valves per cylinder. Wouldn't that be sweet?
