shorty headers

    Will 1986-1993 mustang headers will fit my 73 maverick, it there any clearance problems with them. thanks,

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    No unfortunately,Doug Thorley makes/is making a shorty header for mavs/comets.the mustang ones will not clear the shock towers(At all)If you want long tubes...Hooker 6901's work.Either way you will have to go to a floor shifter.Nothing seems to work well with a column shifter.There are other headers(long tube)that work but I cant think of the brand/PN# at the moment(have turkey on the brain)Crites is going to make headers(shorty style)there is a thread about it. "signe up for crites headers" check it out.

    Call crites. They are doing the run right now as we speak. But call them quick and tell them your with the mav/comet forum.

    Crites offers long tubes in 1 3/4" primary that actually fit, that's why! (y)

    I have had good luck contacting them with timely responces. I am waiting for a quote on shipping, so I guess I will see how long that takes. I always use email with good results.
