Whats involved in putting in a shift kit, how hard is it, how long does it take, what do you have to do. I have rebuilt a tranny before so i know the basics.
Usually takes about 2 hours max. You just drop the valve body, change a couple springs, block a valve, and that's about it. It's simple if you follow the instructions. The transgo kit is by far the easiest (better instructions than a B&M) and IMO shifts better.
I like the fairbanks shift kits, you can have either a full auto or full manual shifting tranny in a couple of hours, but they cost around 70-75 bucks.
so i dont have to take the tranny out or can i just do it through the fluid pan, brop the valve body could you give insructions on how to do this
All shift kits can be installed by dropping the pan and valve body. The instructions come with the kit.
