Looks great, Jeremy. The 70 Grabbers are the only ones to receive clear lenses with amber bulbs on the under-bumper turn signals. That must be what he is referring to.
Looks like a 70 grabber. they had everything but the hood or a 302. Yours has been resprayed or it'd have the graphics package. I have one if you have any questions. I dont believe there are any VIN identifications on these 70 models either.
Corbin, I don't think the clear lenses are exclusive to Grabbers. I have a 70 now that has the clear lenses, I think they were available or standard on the early cars.
Huh. I just looked at some more pictures of some 70s. It looks like you're right. Cool! I learned something new today.
Good deal Unless its an optical illusion, the pic of the right rear shows two creases in the rear quarter and the door looks like it won't close right. If thats the case, the rear end hit has tweeked the whole rear. However, for what you paid, you still got a fantastic deal! Bill
kind of an update. Finally got to the car. Fired it up and drove it around on the streets. Suspension is typical loose, though I think it's mostly related to tire issues. engine and trans are really smooth as hell. for the bad part...we crawled under. the unibody frame is bent down right where it arc's up for the wheel well. this means the entire 1/4 panel is shoved in and down. explains why the trunk lines up no more. in order for this car to be nice again, it would need an hour or two on a frame machine. The unibody would have to be pulled out and up, then the 1/4 repaired. Even though the car is 90% rust free, I'm not sure it warrants that, and we don't need it that bad as a daily driver car. I may again decide to part it out. If I got a hail mary pass from a fellow site person who thought they could restore it, I'd consider it, but I'm not going to sell it to someone else for parts, as I need the parts off it myself. so that's the status update....Now we're hung with what to do. If I part it out, I'll start a new thread. I'll have my decision made sometime this week.
if it's that rust free, why not have it repaired i mean, you may not need another daily driver but for one that is in that good of shape i would try to keep it on the road. just my 0.02
I was afraid of that. My '69.5 is the same way, and is the reason why I gave up on it and am using it for parts too.
if you have a soul you will see it gets a new life. There are only a finite # of these. I did NOT part the 70 grabber i picked up, even though it made financial sense. Dad is building it now My car gets stupid attention even though I try to avoid it. getting gas is like a carshow...what does that say about a these?!
