If it's white smoke and it smokes a lot when you first start it up and/or sitting at a red light you probably need valve seals. If it smokes all the time you need rings. . If its's black smoke them this means its running too rich of fuel. (white smoke is oil burning)
It idles better now. It have a slightly rough idle before. Smoothed it out almost completly. Ill put the rest of the bottle in my crankcase before I change the oil in the spring. I swear Ive got a sticky valve before the car warms up.
i ran seafoam through my 190,000 mile 22re 4runner as per the instructions, smoked like crazy all the way down the street, but did seem to idle better afterward. now that i think about it, it fouled the O2 sensor.
Yep and it will shorten the lifespan of your cat bigtime. Cat being the emissions type not the meow type. Well maybe the meow type if he stands to close to the tail pipe.
i've used it on mine, and it worked wonders, but this was over a period of a few months, add it to your oil, your gas, and pour it down your carb. it took a lot of seafoam...probably save you some mone if you bought a gallon for 50 bucks, but it does help. my engine was HORRIBLE when i got it. i was changing plugs every time i filled up my gas tank and adding a quart of oil. i changed my oil every 500 miles for a while until it started staying cleaner for longer. i also did 2 motor flushes...idk if you should so that withh 200k though. have you ever rebuilt your carb? makes a big difference in power and fuel economy...mine didn't seem to bad when i pulled it apart, but what a difference....all of these helped my car emmensley, but my engine was in extremely bad condition to start...it was running on 3 cylinders when i got it. but after all of that it ran like a champ....hope this helps
You sounds like an infomercial Really though, the Seafoam seemed to help the Mav. On the other hand, I used transmission fluid in the engine to help a sticky valve. IMO that did a comparable job and for a fifth the price. I dont think the trans fluid is safe for the intake though
