    heres something that many of you may remember...weres the exhaust???? i dont see it on this maverick???

    I spoke with a local friend who has a body shop....6-700 or so to pull the frame straight....that's not including smoothing the 1/4 panel out.

    If anyone wants the car whole I'm willing to work out a deal to save it....

    I've gone through fantastic great lengths to save many 4 eyed mustangs, which I'm hardcore about......

    we've decided it's not financially feasable at this point to fix it for us.

    I'm willing to sell the car as a bare roller for next to nothing after I pull some parts I need. I can include the good engine, suspension body panels and the sort...or for the right offer I'll dump the entire thing...I'm going to start a new thread.

    nice deal. ... damn i wanted the sixbanger and tranny ive been trying to get a good one for my 70 for 2 years all the 200 and 170 ive seen have rods through the blocks....:cry: oh well i still got the 250

    there is a real chance I may part this out. As much as I'd love to save the car, frame damage and unibody damage is nearly always a death sentence for any car, unless it's an expensive fastback....between my father my bro and I we've got 3 1986 mustangs, a 91 mustang, a late model bullitt mustang, my 72 maverick, my 66 mustang, my bro's 65 mustang, my hemi ram etc etc. We just have no room for another car unless it's going to be a long term runner....sadly the frame damage on this car has put the price of what it's going to cost around the same as if I bought another rust free maverick without any body damage. They're still fairly common out here.

    the trans and engine run super strong. If you're interested in the drivetrain, shoot me a pm and an offer and we can talk. The exhaust manifold is coded c9, which is for 69, so i'm convinced it's the original proper 70 setup

    I already did. Anyone who wants to save this can. I'm offering it up real cheap. I'll sell it as a roller minus some stuff for real real cheap.

    I don't mind saving the car, but it'll have to be on someone else's dime

    thanks craig. I'm fairly bitter over it. I develop attachments to cars and often it burdens me. I've gone so far to save some cars before that it's hurt me.

    BTW Craig, I "may" still need all that door hardware for my 72 that I'm finishing. I'm going through my stuff this week, as I have the next two weeks off. If I need all that inner hardware, I'll shoot you that money order, and an email ahead of time, thanks!


    I once had an 88 highway patrol mustang coupe that had been hit in the front end hard..real hard..

    I parted it to a bare shell, then fealt bad to crush it, as it was so rare...so I held onto the shell for months and months...even though I didn't have the room for it. It had a clean title still, the important buck tags, and a lot of the important cop specific stuff still.

    In the end I found a dude who drove 1800 miles from missouri to pick up the shell which I gave him for free, along with a ton of parts that belonged to the car. He had 10 other ssp mustangs. His attitude was, as long as it doesn't have so much rust that it pulls apart on the frame machine, then I can straighten it. That was that, and he drove it home 1800 miles or so. Damn I fealt good about that one.

    LOL, regardless....I'll attempt to do the same with this one. I'll part it out I suppose, but I'll offer the shell when I'm done for near nothing if it's worth it to someone to pick it up.

    In the minimum, in the end it will have helped resurrect my 72 into a wonderful near magazine car (hopefully)...and help several other people keep their's alive...so it won't be for lost.

    Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets that way about their cars. I'm still holding onto my '74 Grabber that I wrecked in November of '05. It was of course hit hard in the front. Just can't bring myself to cut the good body panels off and scrap it. I bought the car from Hawkco. The guy he bought it from had owned it since 1984 and drove it through high school like I did. After I told him about it being wrecked, he told me if I was going to scrap it, to let him know. He would give me back how ever much I originally paid for it, and drive nearly 500 miles round trip to come get what was left, just so he could put it in his yard to "grow flowers out of it". I recently bought a sawzall. I plan to start cutting away the bent up metal this coming week and see once and for all if I am capable of saving it myself, since no one else wants to touch it. If not, then I'm going to give that guy a call and tell him to come get it.
