Scott's been working real hard to make this first NJ meet a reality. It'd be great to show support and for as many of you as possible to attend, even if you're not local. I wish I could be there.

I fondly remember the first PA meet and how great it was to have a bunch of Mavs together. The reaction from the other participants at the cruise was fantastic, especially when they counted how many Mavs were there together.

Not trying to rain on anybody's parade.....but at $40 to pre-register or $50 day of the show.....sounds a bit expensive for a "Maverick" get-together.

    My $50 and .02 cents.

I guess my only suggestion would be, make sure you all meet before entering the show, that way you know anyone who is going to show up can part together. A parking lot or McDonalds in the area something like that should do.
I hope the price doesn't deture anyone. In the future we will have to keep that in mind.
    Good luck!

hmmmmmm..... yes 40 or 50 bucks is kind of a lot just to sit in front of your car and so on. so let me put this out to THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED IN GOING- does the money thing scare you off? i don't want those of you new to these meets to think that this is the norm... going to events that set you back this kind of money. it certainly isn't! some of the best times i had at meets were those thrown together on the spur of the moment....like a get-together i went to that if i remember right dennis threw together. we met in a park, shot the breeze a while, went for lunch, back to the park for a while and back home we went! (in my case it was a 3 hour ride north back to jersey) so i'll do it like this:
    plan A...wildwood
plan B...come up with another spot in the great garden state.
cast your vote. since i don't want to exclude any would be participants, all i need is one or two guys/gals to say plan B and we try for a more suitable spot. not going for a majority vote on this one.
my intention as the new jersey state rep for the maverick/comet club is to put together an event where al the "names" can be put to "faces" and to check out each others cars, no matter what kind of shape they are in. so long as it is a comet or maverick! be fore warned......all i really want is for you to walk away happy......and to become members of the maverick/comet club if you are not one already!
thanks in advance for your working with me on this.

Scott I'll support you either way,but I would rather just meet at a park or something simular. No need to spend $50 at a show just to sit a shoot the bull. Maybe a trip to the Prancing Pony or Bel-mar. As long as we stay off the Parkway:eek: Russ

I am up for either one. My car will be down there anyway. I am a little partial as that is my hometown and that is where my car is kept. If it is a park or something I may need to spend more time with the car becasue I have not driven her more then 20 miles from home yet. Or I will have to meet up with everyone come in my pick-up if I can't make it that far. If we do go with plan A, Scott I will do what ever I can to help you out since I am familar with the area. There are plenty of people that go down there not even enter in the show and there are places to meet. They leave them in the hotel lots. I have not missed one all these years. The cruise on Friday night is the best. They have recently made it manditory for show registered cars only for the cruise. I used to go with my dad and do the cruise with their Stingray but they have stopped that. Keep me posted to whatever the discision is.
