Rear end questions

    I sold a kid a 9 inch for his 72 Comet ....it has an 8 inch now ....Does it require a new drive shaft ???? Or can he use the stocker ???? I never had this issue .....so I had to ask ... Dont want to sell something he cant use since it took him a month to get the money !!! Thanks

    Should be fine as is. The only question would be the yoke size on the 9"

    The yoke

    It looks the same and the u-joint even fits the yolk out of a stocker in my yard !!! Try it and see I guess !!!

    9 inch rears used at least 2 different u-joint sizes. Sounds like you have the same size as the 8". However if it does take a different u-joint, all you have to do is get a hybrid joint. They are sold right at Advance or whatever corner parts house you have in your area. 2 bearings will fit into the Maverick driveshaft yoke, and the other 2 will be the size that fits the 9" yoke. Common part.

    So no matter what, no problem.
    Driveshaft length won't be affected.
