Well, I'm not home but I am back at my uncles house just outside of Tampa. We will visit here some more and head back Tuesday morning. I too had a great time and have already told my wife (and my uncle) to plan on making this a yearly thing. I want to thank all of the Florida guys for their hospitality. Finally got to meet a lot of the CAMEO guys too. Heck, they are Maverick people...they GOTTA be good...nuff said! I still have a lot of pics to upload but will probably wait till I get back home so you guys will just have to be patient. After reviewing pics posted by everyone else you'll be seeing a lot of the same stuff though. Seems like we all have a lot of similar taste in cars. Thanks again everyone! See you again soon.
I still could not get to the link. Says page unavailable. Okay, I got there now. I was trying to get there on the link that said it wasn't working. I went back to the original link and it worked. NIce pictures.
Hottie and I are home as well! better a late note than never. How's the cookies Frank? She tried to make them pancake flavored!!!!!
The cookies were great Fred ... thanks Dana! I believe the trip home was the first time anybody has eaten any kind of food while riding in Lil's Mustang ... and she was the one who started it ... "oooow.... gotta' have another one of those cookies ..."
pancakes (cookies) were great... i think 3 made it to the Ga. line. going to checkout that spin on youtube when i get a chance.... enjoyed hanging with you and Hottie in the parking lot. a few of us just picked a parking lot in Savannah to meet . we came from...Maryland, South Carolina and Ga. we have met members from Cali., Fl. and Ky. at Summit. so there doesn't have to be a big show to have a meet...just a parking lot......and it doesn't even have to be ...a paved parking lot...(Fresh Air BBQ) ...Frank...:Handshake
Glad to see everyone made it home alright. It was nice to meet new and old website friends. Sorry I couldn't hang around and chat in the Outback lot. I was very tired and had to get home. Congrat's to Jeff for Best Of Show, Dennis, Jim, and Ray for the photo op's. Let us know what magazine and when the will appear. Looking foward to next year. Ken
Hi Dennis; Glad you made it back o.k. You mentioned that you had a problem with your trailer tire. I took a few photos of the triplets (Sprints) and plan to put some of them in my next CAMEO newsletter which you will receive in the mailing. Always good to see you .. looking forward to the next time . Chip
Hey Jim, The Sprints even draw "Pinto People" to the Maverick site. Just wanted to stop in and say Hi and let you know it puts a smile on my face to see the 3 together. Helps me not feel so bad for not buying the Sprint (Pinto) when I had the chance and glad it went to someone with the other 2. Cookieboy
Hey Brian(Cookieboy), Glad you were able to make it over to the site. Tony(Pintony), has been here a few times. Several people over here like Pintos, too. It's all good. They are all Fords and have some common history. Fate must have wanted the Pinto in my hands, since it nearly went to you, another fellow in Ind., and then Brad buying it and turning around and letting me buy it from him so he could purchase a Maverick. Funny how things work out. Some things are just meant to be. Thanks for the Utube video on the Pinto you sent me. Don't be a stranger. Jim
Hey Jim, I hope to have an early Comet (or Maverick) one of these days and do look, I just have to get the "ponies" under control and then find the right one. The video for the Sprint is still posted here ~~> [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKHyq4foh-E"]YouTube - 1972 Sprint Pinto[/ame] and with enough pictures I would really like to do one for the Sprints! Brian
Brian, Thanks for including the Utube. That was what got me excited about the car in the first place, knowing what a good base I had to start with. Since the video, I took every panel out and the door panels off, cleaned and redyed them, freshened up the white on the seats, painting doors solid white, redyed the dash, replaced those gauges with modern ones, added a Mustang II console dyed as the rest of the interior, redid the engine bay, repainted all the wheels including the spare, and detailed underneath. I had forgotten in past posts, but special thanks go out to Ken(Mavgrab302) for without him transporting the Pinto to and fro the show, the Pinto would not have made it. He got captivated with a young lady and her daughter and we did not see much of them during the show, but he showed up in time to take the car home for me. Thanks, Ken. Jim
WOW! wish I could see it now... it was a good start and sounds like you did what the little pony needed.
Jim you are welcome, I was proud to help but it was your day and a Great day it was. The key chain picture you gave me is proudly displayed with my other collectibles... Oh! and as far as the two girls I'm still star struck.. Ken
