    I like the 69.5 myself just cause of the dash ignition switch.

    Yeah, that's the way to go. Most of the differences over the years are easily swapped around anyway, except maybe the catalytic converter hump in the floor of later ones. Mine is a '71 but has later model power disc brakes, power steering, 5 lug, etc...

    '72 Comet, '75 Maverick, '85 F150 4x4 ,'93 F150,'75 F100,'77 Jeep Wagoneer,'91 Dodge D250 Cummins,'90 F150 xtra cab 4x4, '93 F150 4x4
    All of 'em.But almost each year had minor upgrades/downfalls;
    69.5-70-69.5 has that cool key in the dash,but 69.5-70 also has...a smaller tranny tunnel,1 year door sills,1 year drop in gas tank,and no reinforcement along the lower shock towers for v8 power(not a real big deal)
    71-72-start of the "93" vin Grabbers.v8 power(a bit weaker in '72)nice looking bucket seat interiors,Grabbers got the scooped hood.Late 72 LDO option got the most comfy(in my opinion)buckets seats put in a Mav
    73-Grabber lost the hood,got a medium front bumper and the grabber buckets got a bit plusher.
    74-75-crash bumpers front/rear(if you like that sort of thing)easily converted to the more attractive,but totally useless small bumpers.disc brakes optional.electronic ignition.
    76-77-standard disc brakes.no more Grabber.fuse box more convenient,more traditional e-brake.
    I like that you can roll all of the best things about these cars into one.
    like a '71 Grabber,w/LDO buckets,electronic ignition,disc brakes,v8/c4.All bolt on/bolt in/factory parts.

    I agree with the any mindset as long as we can still get all the best parts to build the best of all worlds. Grbrmvrickmo, THE SEATBELTS??? i hate when my shoulder harness comes off on the freeway or in the mountains and i dont even realize it until i move in my seat...... LOL!!!!

    69.5 to 73 it is easy to find disk brakes or to upgrade the ignition, motor whatever, but it is getting harder and harder to find the small/medium bumpers if you want them .
