hi im rebuilding my 302, i didnt want to spend to much cause im planning on buying a crate engine later, im just planning on using my comet for my upcoming wedding, so im just looking some info on a better cam kit since im in their and it should give some life to my engin. Also need a engine rebuild kit, 1 intake valve, if anyone knows a good place to pick these things up that would be great!

replacing the valve springs on an old motor will wake it up considerably. if you change the cam defintly get the matching valve sprigs for it.

Those look like chevy cam grinds.Get an asymmetrical cam with more exhaust lift than intake.Stock ford heads stink on the exhaust side.Dont go over 225/230 duration at .050 with stock converter/gears.Also get a cam with a 112/114 LSA(lobe separation angle) you wont like a tighter one in a stock application. Are those pistons flat top or dished??? if they are dished...get flat tops...worth a few points in the compression department(you will need all the help you can get here)in short...I would just get a re-man short block as suggested by Frank. What you will spend in machine work alone will make the re-man cheaper.Good luck whichever way you go.
