I was looking at wikipedia today, and it states: "In 1974, the Maverick was unchanged except for rear federal bumpers and larger trunk with a higher deck." I've looked at as many pics online as I could, I can't tell that a 74+ looks any differant. Can anyone show me the diff?

That information is incorrect. There was no major change to the body itself, just the rear bumper.

Aside from the 5 MPH bumpers...no change... no increase in decklid height or trunk space...Someones is misinformed/incorrect thats all.

The trunk has several cubic inches more capacity from 74 up since the braces were no longer welded to the floor for the small rear bumper ... that is all .... :)

Its got a few more holes punched in the lower corner for the longer quarter extensions. Wikipedia also clams a 289-302 is a Windsor and we all know they were made in Cleavland, they also say a 3.03 trans is a Toploader
