i just picked up some slot mags, 2 15x10, 2 15x8. i need to know what back space/ tire size for my 73. will i need to roll the lips?
It is possible that you won't be able to use the 10s, but not necessarily ... they might limit tire size though. You say you need to know the backspace ... that is built into the wheel. It is the distance from where the wheel bolts to the car to the inboard mounting surface where the tire mounts to the wheel (not the lip itself, but the inside edge of it). If you post that dimension, we can give you a better idea of what can be done here. Are you running the stock rear axle?
I don't see any way (well.....not without a lot of work) you will get 10" wide wheels on a Maverick. Did you waste your money? Nope....just put them on ebay.
If they are deep-offset, they will fit. Outboard tire clearance might become the issue. I think Razorsharp is running 10" rear wheels.
The 10's arent going to fit unless you lift the ass end really high so the tires stick out past the quarter. That looks silly though on any car. You can try the 8's on the back. I wouldnt try the 8's on the front. Even if the do clear they would be really hard on front end parts. Thats my 2 cents.
Here is a chart to help you spec a wheel for your car. http://www.stocktonwheel.com/orderform.htm Rally Wheels OEM/Factory Smoothie Wheels 648 West Fremont Street Stockton, CA 95203 Phone: 209.464.7771 Fax: 209.464.4725
