ok gang... i still think that a trip to the wildwood car show on the boardwalk is a fun idea. more of a social thing than my "official' MINI MEET. my idea for the official mini meet is this: as you have seen, russ is putting together a great event called mavericks across america. well my idea is this- rather than sit around with the hood propped up and shooting the breeze, my plan for the mini meet is to take the camera to its next stop as a maverick convoy! i'll do the worrying about how i get the camera. errrr... russ will figure that out. once i get the camera, all interested will join me as i have said in a string of mavs going to its next place... PA delaware, wherever. non club members are encouraged to come along and find out what this club is all about. mind you i will come armed with applications. even already addressed stamped envelopes. all you need is to cough up 20 bucks (or whatever the pro-rated membership fee is at that time.) i'll even bring pens! viola' you will be at that point mcci members! and what a great way to start off your membership...ROAD TRIP!!!! talking to russ, i think the mav across america first leg should have one of johns' calende (how the hell do you spell calendar?)rs. sign the date as to when you get the camera. mark down the date you take the camera to its next stop. the guy/gal you give the camera to also signs the calander and takes it along with the camera to its next stop along with a sort blurb about where the picture was taken. so on and so on. kinda like a diary for the camera. at the roundup it will be a door prize...(subject to the board approval) winner need not be present. maybe dennis would put a small coupon in shorthorns that can be mailed in before the roundup? or maybe just mail in your mailing label from your shorthorns... i dunno. wanna keep it fair for the guys in alaska and brazil!. those of you other reps who haven't yet planned a mini meet, why not make this idea work for you? jersey guys, i'll let you know when i am scheduled to receive the camera so we can plan its next stop.
See...here is a guy using his imagination. All it takes is some imagination to put together something for a mini-meet. It doesn't have to be the same-old same-old get together and look at everyone's car for 4 or 5 hours. It also doesn't take going to an event that costs a lot of $$ either to have a great time. We all like to drive our Mavs and this is a great way to do it. Come on guys.....who can come up with something better?
long drives Can we tow the mav's? Never thought id ask that but with the gears the price of fuel... A 3 or 4 hour ride could be hard on the car and burn a lot of fuel. i DON'T MIND BURNING A LOT OF FUEL WHEN I GET THERE , AND RUBBER TOO....but I need to have the trailer near by. BURNING RUBBER that reminds me today is test and tune at the track (maple grove raceway) gotta go,gotta go...... Let me know when to be there. John
Scott, you know Im in. I just need a little notice for I am getting things ready to move into our new house. I may also have to take into consideration the long ride. I have 380's with a spool. I think the mav should be able to handle it. I dont know Ill figure out something cause Im in. You just let me know Scott. Thom
thom... i will give you plenty of notice. actually, the way i plan to do it is notify everybody who says "yes" when i get the camera and calendar. then i will ask each for a list of dates (probly sundays) they can go. then i will find the common date amongst everybody and we have a date! all are welcome. not just jersey guys. john as far as i am concerned, if you don't mind being called "trailer queen" (all meant in fun of course) bring it on a trailer!the whole idea is to meet new people, say hi to those you already know and to take a picture of us , our cars and the next stop with everybody and their cars. may have to take it off the trailer for the pictures tho.
