Does anybody have this combo in there car? I was wondering about the pedal setup since power disc brakes use a different pedal arm at the top?
The brake booster is in the way of the mechanical linkage going from the clutch pedal to the z-bar. Not saying it can't be done, but it is doubtful. A hydraulic clutch would be a very good way around this problem IMO.
I've set up two of them I'll see if I have pictures. I welded a completely seperate clutch pivot to the bottom of the power brake pedal bracket and used a hydraulic clutch.
Thanks for the info gang, a person wants to buy my power disc booster and he wants to put it in his car which he is going to put a 4 speed in, I dont know how mechanically inclined he is but figured it was not an easy bolt in task, I knew I had never seen a manual tranny power disc brake car before and hadnt heard of one.
wow, so theres a problem with power brake booster to go with the Z bar clutch set up. ive been doing a lot of research to go around this but i havent found a clue of what clutch master can go with he pwer brake booster.
Just order a brake booster from ABS POWER BRAKE. Use part # 9782. You must have them lengthen the studs an additional 2 1/2 inches. If you plan on going to 4 wheel disc, use #9786. Only thing you have to do to your car is open the hole up another 1/8". Then it will bolt right in and clear all the mechanical linkage. http://www.abspowerbrake.com
IMO Manual disc brakes are better for road racing/drag racing.... DO not have to worry about the vacuum supply to the power booster with radical cams(since they do not allow good vacuum signal) YOu can get Master Cylinders from JMC that give you a great feel (clost to power) but the "feel" of manual for total control
