get the above mentioned gun and rent a compressor if you dont have one. PPG primer for a car is about $100 for a gallon and as stated above, several times better. you will even have a little left over if you dont mix it in the cans but in the spray gun that you can use for touching up as you do body work... if you take it to metal first and do this you should be able to count that as your primer for the final job,

I did the front fenders in epoxy primer, have a gun and compressor. It was afterwards that I found out how bad that stuff is for you if you don't use a respirator (not a mask or filters, but actual air line!).

So that stopped all future epoxy painting in my garage.

i would not do it in my garage but if you use a painters vapor respirator with dust mist pre filters that should work with good ventilation.

I voted for rattling it, but even the 6 dollar crap I used has rust coming through it!

The option I would have chosen is not there. You already have the gun and compressor. Get the primer from the paint store.
I once rattled my car. The more cans I went thru, the better it looked. The technique I was using got faster and faster also :dizzy: lol. Today I wouldn't do it. For not much more I could have gotten the good stuff and had a better application. It did look cool tho. Got alot of thumbs up going places. It was black primer. ...
You got me dreaming again :(...

I vote leave it. If you rattle canned it, it wouldn't match your model/toy car anymore... :D

    Yeah, Corbin. You convinced me.

I would have to repaint my toy to match the car, wouldn't I...:rofl2:

My neighbor's son spent $800 on the interior of a 1960 Falcon. After that he spray caned it. It looks like a wild man with a mop painted the car.
