    Hi guys!

I'm trying to figure out how the remote mirror "gimbal" mounts to the door or door panel. I've got shop manuals and parts diagrams galore, but none show the gimbal or how it's supposed to mount... HELP!

Weeell, no. Of course, a pic would help identify things... I have the gimbal (with cable) and the chrome outer nut. My mirror (pretty sure here) was factory installed into the cardboard door panel, not into the door skin as shown in the tech article. There is no matching hole in the steel inner door, so is it supposed to just hang on the cardboard panel?

Weird- the ones I have don't require 2 holes??? Very long cable and a small metal L-shaped tag that has "R.T. mirror" written on it. The other one has a round backing plate with no writing and cable is considerably shorter, left side I presumed. Can't remember what they were supposed to have come off...

Yup, that clears it up. Mine must be a "retrofit" and I'll just have to wing the (re)install.

    Thanks!
